• Friday, September: 4-6pm – Front Porch of Camp Store – $3

Enjoy RWB shortcakes with mixed berries on an individual sponge cake, whipped cream, and sprinkles.

• Saturday, September 5

1 pm – 2^nd Annual Walnut Grove Scavenger Hunt – Rec Hall – Free

A camper favorite and fun for all ages…this popular campground event is meant to be done in teams of two (adult and small child, two older kids, etc.). Read and decipher clues that lead to new clues, guiding participants around the campground to a destination and fun prize! You must be on foot – no scooters, bikes, golf carts allowed, etc. Every child will receive a fun prize, and the winning team receives a great swag bag!

5 pm – 1^st Annual Hot Wings Eating Competition – Rec Hall – $10 per participant entry fee

Based on the hit YouTube series Hot Ones (Hot Ones Link), Walnut Grove will host our own version, where participants move through a series of 10 hot sauces from mild to off-the-charts hot while answering questions about their life and camping experiences. Not for the faint of palate, this is a very entertaining event, and we encourage everyone who thinks they can handle the challenge to sign up, and for everyone else to come root them on! A two-night stay in a cabin or retro trailer will be awarded to the winner, as well as a Spacious Skies Walnut Grove T-shirt!

8 pm – Bonfire with S’mores & Extended Pool and Jump Pillow Hours

We will light a bonfire at the big fire pit and provide marshmallows and chocolate-dipped cookies for s’mores (please bring your own sticks or purchase them in the Camp Store). The jump pillow and pool will stay open until 9:30 pm, and we will have free glow jewelry and beach balls to light up the night in honor of Labor Day and all who make our communities safe and welcoming for all.
