Spacious Skies Campgrounds, a growing company comprised of 13 campgrounds from Maine to the Carolinas, has garnered two winners from RVshare’s first Campers’ Choice Awards, according to a press release.
“The Campies” recognize campgrounds across the United States in a variety of categories.
Of the 12 awards handed out, Spacious Skies won “Best Wifi and Remote-Friendly Experience” for Spacious Skies Balsam Woods in Abbott, Maine, and “Best Family-Friendly Campground” for Spacious Skies Seven Maples Campground in Hancock, N.H.
“On behalf of the company and our dedicated staff at Balsam Woods and Seven Maples – and all of our campgrounds, for that matter – we are excited to receive these awards from our distinguished partners at RVshare,” said Ali Rasmussen, CEO and creative director of Spacious Skies Campgrounds. “It’s especially gratifying to be recognized as we are still a young company with big plans.”
About the Campies
On July 19, RVshare welcomed all RV travelers, past renters, campground owners and travel enthusiasts to nominate their favorite campgrounds in a number of categories. Nominations closed on Aug. 19 and the top finalists were then distributed to a carefully selected group of panelists to make their final selections. This year’s panelists included a range of RV travel experts, influencers, spokespeople, editors, hosts and bestselling authors in the outdoor and RV travel space. All panelists were researched and designated based on their involvement and commitment to the RV and camping industry. About Balsam Woods and Seven Maples
Spacious Skies Balsam Woods is the company’s northernmost property located in the heart of Maine, a half hour south of Moosehead Lake and 60 miles from Mt. Katahdin, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. The campground has 84 RV sites, six cabins and four tent sites. Amenities include heated in-ground swimming pool, snack bar, free Wifi, camp store, walking and hiking trails, recreation hall, playground, bathhouse, jumping pillow, pavilion, gem mining, laundry and more.

The campground features 125 RV sites – including 80 with full hookups and 39 with water and electric hookups – as well as four cabins. Other features include a swimming pool complex with a water slide, private trout fishing pond, kayaking, hiking trails, playgrounds, camp store, gem mine, arcade and a recreation hall. The campground is a favorite among traveling families because of its array of kid-pleasing amenities. With its enormous waterslide and other splashy features, it was named one of the country’s top 12 campgrounds with water parks in the 2022 Campspot Camp Guide.
