Spacious Skies Sandy Run is more colorful today than it was last month. That’s because this popular year-round campground near Fayetteville, N.C. has just unveiled a cool new mural completed by Carolina artist Christine Crawford, according to a press release.
Artist Christine Crawford created the first Spacious Skies mural.
The mural is the first of the 13 local murals that Spacious Skies Campgrounds hopes to add in the coming months.
“We are committed to supporting local artists and makers near each of our campgrounds and Crawford’s creation is an exemplary demonstration of that mission,” said Ali Rasmussen, CEO and creative director of the fast-growing company. “These murals will welcome campers with a colorful, photo-worthy backdrop and a cool, welcoming vibe. We can’t wait to see what other talented artists create at our other locations.”
The Spacious Skies Sandy Run mural prominently features the group’s “Take Your Indoors Outdoors” slogan as well as locally inspired symbols including the campground’s pinecone icon and cardinals, the official state bird of North Carolina. The mural is situated on a wall of the bathhouse, beckoning campers to snap photos with the mural as the backdrop.
Open year-round, Spacious Skies Sandy Run features 62 RV sites as well as amenities such as a catch-and-release pond, gem mining, walking trail, camp store, playground and jumping pillow. There is also a swimming pool that is open during the summer months.
There are numerous local attractions within a short drive of the campground including the Fayetteville Motorsports Park, Cape Fear Botanical Park, J. Bayard Clark Park & Nature Center and Zipquest Waterfall and Treetop Adventure. There are also numerous themed driving trails that showcase the region’s heritage and culture.
Spacious Skies Campgrounds is presently seeking mural artists to create original artwork at its other campgrounds, which are situated throughout the East.
