Spacious Skies Bringing Back Themed Weekends

After its successful inaugural year of common-themed weekends, Spacious Skies Campgrounds is offering its 2024 lineup with some new themes as well as many that were camper-approved in 2023, according to a press release.

The owner and operator of 15 campgrounds from Maine to Georgia introduced the concept last year with the weekends often coinciding with holidays or seasonal offerings. For example, Stars N’ Stripes celebrated Independence Day and will return for the long weekend this year July 4-7. All October weekends will have a distinct Halloween feel, and Labor Day weekend will be devoted to BBQ.

“The themed weekends were an instant hit across the collection, and in many ways as much fun for our enthusiastic Cosmic Crew on-site as it was for the guests,” said Ali Rasmussen, co-founder of Spacious Skies Campgrounds. “Our guests loved the camaraderie and shared adventures they experienced as they participated in the games, crafts, and events throughout the spring, summer, and fall.”

This year’s special weekends will kick off with “Spring Celebration” March 29-31 followed by “When You Wish Upon a Spacious Sky Star,” a special celebration of the solar eclipse, which can be seen – at least partially – from many of the campgrounds.

Prospective guests should check the specific campground pages on the Spacious Skies website for opening and closing dates to confirm the weekends each campground will be available to participate.

“With 15 locations stretching from Maine to Georgia, Spacious Skies is a dynamic and growing company that acquired its first campground less than three years ago,” noted the release. “The company’s third anniversary is March 19. Since then, it has regularly been improving infrastructure, enhancing amenities, adding options for lodgings and adding activities.”

Guests can reserve RV sites as well as tent sites, retro RV rentals, cabins and yurts where available online or by calling individual campgrounds.
